International Networking
Building upon a strong foundation of internationally renowned expertise
All of the groups participating in the ECCPS publish in top-ranked, international, peer-reviewed journals
such as N Engl J Med, The Lancet,
Cell, Nature, Nature Med,
Science, J Exp Med, J Clin Invest,
Proc Nat Acad Sci USA, EMBO J,
J Biol Chem, Circulation,
Circulation Res, Am J Respir Crit Care Med,
Blood etc.
A point that is particularly worth highlighting is that many of the participants regularly publish their work in both excellent
basic science-orientated as well as in clinically-orientated journals.
The publication records of our faculty speak for themselves, and from the existing level of cooperative funding from national
and international agencies in the field of heart, lung and vascular research in both Frankfurt and Giessen, it
is clear that the ”Heart and Lung“ focus in Hessen is already internationally well recognized.
This is particularly obvious from the active participation in international scientific networks:
Several members of the ECCPS faculty hold central positions in such networks (see Figure).
n the majority of cases, ECCPS faculty members have coordinating
roles (indicated by asterisk). We expect that this strong international acceptance and visibility will become even
more prominent upon initiation of the ECCPS.
